I'm working on polishing up a collection of short stories for a possible e-book. I can't name the publisher just yet as we are still at an early stage of assessing the compatibility of my work with their publishing ethos. Compromises at both ends are being made. I am optimistic an agreement can be reached.
Aside from that, I am of course an old fashioned man. I hadn't been thinking of releasing an e-book. But since people will be able to download the book for Kindle and Nook at a very low price it might provide an excellent introduction to my work for some people. Any writers visiting here that have found the positives in releasing e-books?
It can't do you any harm. It will lead new people to your stuff, like Twin Peaks did with Kenny Lynch.
ReplyDeletei was hesitant like you but i released all my stuff on Kindle and have gotten tons of new readers, can't hurt to try for sure look forward to reading some of your stories
ReplyDeleteThanks, gentlemen.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see how it goes. I'm not self-publishing so it still depends on whether this press can work with it. I have made my changes as much as I feel I can without compromising my own ethos. If not I have another print publisher interested in taking a look. I do think e-publishing is down with the kids though. It's just how they do it these days. Cheers.
You got a Kindle, Ray? I haven't but my pensioner sister has!
ReplyDeleteNah. I refuse to own any e-readers, Paul. Though I whole-heartedly encourage others to do so. Reading Mark SaFranko at the moment, first time I've gotten around to doing so. Fantastic writer. So simple in style and yet he keeps you turning the page.
